UVa's Jordan Allen Headed to MLS

Posted: Updated:

After helping lead the Virginia men's soccer team to the College Cup this season, freshman midfielder Jordan Allen has signed a contract with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer.

Allen has signed a "Homegrown Contract" with Salt Lake.

The Homegrown Player Rule is an MLS program which allows teams to sign local players from their own development academies directly on to rosters.

The third-team All-ACC honoree Allen played at Real Salt Lake's Arizona Academy from August 2011 to December 2012.

He started all 24 games for Virginia this season, scoring three goals, and dishing out five assists.
