The Waynesboro Public Library wants you to reveal what you get "geeked" about. The "Geek the Library" public awareness campaign across America has hit the Shenandoah Valley.
Organizers are transforming the word "geek" from a noun to a verb - and through organized photoshoots at libraries across the country, they want you to identify your biggest passions. They're hoping to stir up more engagement in public libraries.
"Everything - I mean, anything from movies to snow to Christmas to video games - anything that people are passionate about,” said Marta Grove, publicity coordinator at Waynesboro Public Library.
Those involved in the campaign also want to raise awareness about funding for public libraries, which mostly comes from local dollars.
If you missed Monday's photoshoot at Waynesboro Public Library, the next one takes place the evening of January 9.
