An engineer's review of the road above a collapsed retaining wall at an Albemarle County shopping center finds it is safe for traffic.
The wall collapsed following Sunday's heavy rains - pulling down the guard rail and pavement on the road into Gander Mountain. County planners say engineer Scott Collins checked out the site Monday and ensures the entrance road is on stable ground. He agrees to check the stability every 24 hours until repairs are made.
Developer Wendell Wood owns the property. He did not return NBC29's call for comment.
