Harrisonburg Police Continue Search for Homicide Suspect, Victim Identified

The Harrisonburg Police Department continues investigating the shooting that took place earlier this week.  Officers responded to the 200 block of Commerce Drive around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24 for the report of a male who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Traman T. Turner, 27, of Harrisonburg was found unresponsive in the parking lot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after the shooting took place, investigators identified the suspect as Delano D. Fitz. He is a 27-year-old black male, who is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 168 pounds.

The Harrisonburg Police Department obtained arrest warrants for Delano Fitz for first degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police are asking for assistance from members of the community in locating this suspect. He is still considered armed and dangerous.
