Edgar Bronfman senior died Saturday in New York City. The Canadian-born billionaire businessman made his fortune running the Seagram’s liquor empire.
Bronfman was well-known in Albemarle County for raising cattle and bison at his Georgetown Farms near Free Union. He sold the farmland in three parcels last year.
Bronfman devoted much of his life to advocating for Judaism and Jewish causes
Edgar Bronfman was 84 years old.
