To-Go Meals from Grocery Store Popular During Holidays
If you don't have time to whip up a holiday meal, some stores offer things ready to go. Christmas Eve was a busy day for all of them.
Whole Foods in Charlottesville says it has sold more than 400 meals for the holiday. Chefs there say the meals are popular because of the time they save.
“We do a really good business around the holidays, having the prepared foods helps families focus on spending time together instead of spending time in the kitchen. So our talented chefs are able to prepare various items whether they be turkeys or hams or beef or duck for families,” said Ian Huitt, a prepared foods team leader at Whole Foods.
Whole Foods chefs say the most popular item this year is their herb-roasted turkey.
