Special Olympics Seeks Bowling Tournament Volunteers

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -

Area three Special Olympics is looking for volunteers to help out with a big bowling tournament in Albemarle County. Sunday, dozens of Special Olympics athletes came out to practice for the January 12 competition.

Organizers are still looking for about 15 volunteers to help out with the event.

Bowler Liz Wisbauer says volunteers are essential to making the games a success. “They’re kind of like our cheerleaders. They cheer us on when we get strikes and spares,” she stated.

The competition takes place in the afternoon of January 12 at Kegler's Lanes in Albemarle County.  You can send an email to area three Special Olympics if you are interested in volunteering.
