The new fee goes into effect next summer.
Some of the options to lower that fee include building a pond or wetland area that prevents stormwater from running off a property.
There are options to get extra credit too.
“If there were a property owner who put in a stormwater project for a neighboring property they can get extra credit for that,” says Charlottesville Vice Mayor Kristin Szakos.
