C'ville Council Finalizes Stormwater Utility Credits

Posted: Updated:
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - Charlottesville City Council has finalized ways property owners can earn credit toward the up and coming city stormwater utility fee.

The new fee goes into effect next summer.

Some of the options to lower that fee include building a pond or wetland area that prevents stormwater from running off a property.

There are options to get extra credit too.

“If there were a property owner who put in a stormwater project for a neighboring property they can get extra credit for that,” says Charlottesville Vice Mayor Kristin Szakos.
