Third-graders brought some holiday cheer to a Charlottesville retirement community Friday. Students from Burnley-Moran Elementary School sang songs and delivered gifts to residents at the Martha Jefferson House.

They held a bake sale earlier this year to fund the gifts. They also made cards for the residents. It's all about making sure no one is forgotten during the holidays.

"The kids were very excited. The residents were overjoyed to see them and get a little something special for Christmas," said third-grade teacher Anna Isley.

This is the first year the students fully funded the event themselves. They sold $250 worth of baked goods they made at home.
