Charlottesville's Oldest Resident Dies at Age 112

Thursday, family and friends are remembering Mollie Wood. At the age of 112, she was Charlottesville's oldest person.

Mollie was born in 1901, and died Wednesday.

She often went by the nickname of Granny, and was the last survivor of nine children.

Two of her daughters died before her, and she leaves behind her daughter Louise Minter, and nine grandchildren and their spouses.

She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren, and four great-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for Friday at 11 a.m. at Monticello Memory Gardens.
