An Albemarle County company is making the move into downtown Charlottesville. The CFA Institute name now covers the signs of the former Martha Jefferson Hospital.
Wednesday, the institute is in the process of transferring equipment and employees from its facility in the Fontaine Research Park to its new global operations center.
All of CFA's more than 400 employees will begin working out of the Charlottesville building by January 10.
Statement from the CFA Institute:
“Following just over a year of construction at the former Martha Jefferson Hospital site, we are pleased to be starting the move to our new Global Operations Center on December 13, 2013,” said Tim McLaughlin, CFA, CPA, chief administrative officer and chief financial officer of CFA Institute. “More than 400 members of staff will be relocated to the new building by January 10, 2014, where they will enjoy a healthy working environment which uses some major green initiatives, such as a water reuse system and solar panels, in order to preserve the community around us. As a member of the Charlottesville community for five decades and one of the largest employers in the Albemarle area, we are delighted to be able to continue our mission to lead the global investment profession from here and we thank the people of Charlottesville for their continued support.”
