Afton Church Hosts ‘Bethlehem Village’ Reenactment

Posted: Updated:

People driving around Afton Mountain may spot a light from miles away intended to draw crowds to experience the Christmas story.

Hebron Baptist Church is hosting Bethlehem Village, where volunteers and church members reenact the story of Jesus, remain in character, and share in song. But the event is not limited to Christians.

"We invite you to be a part of the Christmas story. It means different things to different people. The reason why we do Bethlehem isn't to put a hard sell on people about religion. We just want to steal away from the commercialism and the hectic pace of the holiday season,” said Ken Bryant, a representative from the church.

The event runs every night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., until Tuesday.
