Frontier Culture Museum Hosts Holiday Lantern Tour
A museum in the valley is bringing the past to life by lantern. The Frontier Culture Museum is hosting its Holiday Lantern Tour.
Visitors travel to old-world farms in places like Germany, Ireland, and England by lantern for a series of vignettes. Then they ride a horse-drawn wagon to new-world America.
The museum marketing director, Justin Reiter, says it's a tradition in Staunton.
“We have families that come back year after year after year. It is a family-oriented event. It's a lot of fun walking through the museum, following lanterns, and seeing what it might have been like during that time and how the holidays would have been spent. It's just something completely unique,” Reiter said.
The tour is Thursday through Sunday nights for the next two weeks. Reservations are required.
