Valley Animal Shelter Encourages Adoption for the Holidays

Posted: Updated:

If you're looking for a gift your kids will love this Christmas, why not give them something that will love them back? The Shenandoah Valley Animal Service Center is getting ready for its Home for the Holidays adoption event.

The center's assistant director, Lindsey Huffman, says the goal is to find every animal a home. So the center is letting you pick the adoption fee, even if that means it’s free.

"Can only imagine having to spend Christmas in a two-by-two cage or a six-by-eight kennel. They want a home just like anybody else with family, and gifts, and love,” said Lindsey Huffman, the center’s assistant director.

The event is Friday from 11 a.m. to midnight at the shelter in Lyndhurst.
