Culpeper Police Investigate Case of Teen Who Was Shot

A 14-year-old Culpeper boy remains in stable condition, according to the victim’s parents, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he is undergoing treatment for a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the back.

Culpeper Police were called to the 400 block of West Chandler Street about 8 p.m. last night regarding a shooting. The victim and another 14-year-old boy, who lives in the house, were in the bedroom of the home when the shooting occurred.

The victim was taken by to Culpeper Regional Hospital and later transported to Charlottesville for treatment.

Detective Brittany Jenkins is conducting the investigation. She was assisted by Detective Sgt. Jeff Dodson and Detective Richard Brooking.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been placed at this time.
