Central Virginia Nonprofits Spread Holiday Cheer

Posted: Updated:

The Thomas Jefferson Area United Way is spreading some holiday cheer.

United Way workers delivered a handful of festive tinsel trees to WorkSource Enterprises Monday afternoon. The organization provides job training and employment to people with disabilities.

The United Way delivers the trees each year to nonprofits and those in need.

Target provided the trees through its Share-a-Tree program.

The Kiwanis Club is also on a mission in the spirit of the holidays. The service club held its 30th annual holiday party for persons with disabilities Monday night.

Dozens of the club's members held the party for Region Ten members and WorkSource enterprises and their caregivers.

Kiwanis has been serving the Charlottesville community for 91 years.
