CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -

Some University of Virginia students were evacuated from their Charlottesville apartment due to a basement fire Monday.

The fire started just after 10:30 a.m. at an apartment along 14th Street Northwest.

Fire officials say crews working on the building's electrical system sparked the blaze. Crews are ventilating the house before determining if the students will be allowed back inside.
