ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Some people braved the slick roads to stock up on last-minute storm supplies at the Lowe's store in Albemarle County.

Customers grabbed items including ice melt, shovels, gloves, and generators to gear up for the storm.

Store managers say the big shopping rush came Saturday for products to keep people safe and warm through the wintry weather.

“We sold a lot of generators, sold out of batteries as we said before, ice melt and DuraFlame logs,” says assistant store manager Caleb Einwechter. “Heating fuels is the focus, propane heaters, kerosene heaters and anything you can get to provide warmth.”

Lowe's Strategic Command Center takes control of many of these items during the season. That enables the store to restock products quicker if they are running low.
