ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Sunday's storm is impacting travel at Charlottesville Albemarle Airport.

Snow and ice in Charlottesville and in other parts of the country have delayed or cancelled some flights.

Airport crews are clearing runways and de-icing planes tonight and expect to continue into Monday.

“We've got all our equipment out, we have all our chemicals we use,” says William Pahuta, deputy director of aviation. “We anticipate [being] open and operational, but I would still caution you that flights may cancel.”

The airport is encouraging passengers to check directly with their airline about potential flight delays or cancellations.
