Sisters to Deliver Toys for Kids at UVA Children’s Hospital
Two sisters are working to make this time of year special for kids who don't get to spend the holidays at home. Alyssa and Amanda Connor spent Friday evening making teddy bears to deliver to the kids at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital.
The two went door to door and even started a PayPal account for people to donate for “The Bear Project 2013." Now, with the money raised, the sisters and some friends were able to make about 50 bears at Build-a-Bear.
“Even though they don't get to be home for Christmas it's a way that they can get a present and enjoy the holidays,” Amanda said.
The sisters aren't finished yet. They are still looking for more donations and hope to have the project completed by December 14.
