A judge granted a continuance in the trial for a man charged in connection with an officer-involved shooting in Charlottesville.

Fifty-six-year-old Frank Donnett Brown is charged with malicious wounding and using a firearm in a felony. Police say Brown shot 22-year-old Leon Brock after Brock and his friends jumped him outside the Elks Lodge (I.B.P.O.E. of W. Rivanna #195) along Second Street Northwest in March.

Brown's attorney asked for the continuance because his client is in the hospital. A new trial date will be set next week.

Brown was shot twice by a police officer after he was ordered to drop his gun. No charges were filed against the police officer involved in the shooting.
