Posted: Updated:

City of Charlottesville Press Release

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Charlottesville Police Officers will be directing traffic through the Route 250 Bypass/McIntire Road intersection as it is repaved. Traffic will be shifted throughout as the roadway is built up and blended in with existing pavement.

The paving operations and ramp closure will occur between Friday, December 6th at 9am and Friday, December 13 at 4pm. Motorists seeking to access downtown and the Route 250 Bypass are encouraged to use alternate routes.

In addition, the installation of drainage structures and relocation of a sanitary sewer line will require intermittent, temporary detours for motorists heading from

eastbound Route 250 Bypass onto Park Street. Motorists will be directed to utilize the Locust Avenue interchange ramps to U-turn. Formal detour signing will be in place.

Work zone is posted at 25 MPH - please drive carefully!
