The death penalty is now off the table for 26-year-old Rashad Riddick, who is charged with the deaths of his cousin, uncle and aunt in Madison County.
In court, the commonwealth and defense said they reached an agreement: the commonwealth will not seek the death penalty and the defense will not get a jury trial.
That means a judge alone will hear the case and sentence Riddick if he is found guilty. That's expected to happen in September.
Riddick is accused of murdering his uncle James Jackson, Jackson's wife Karen and her daughter Chante Davis in February 2011.
