The number of available jobs that pay enough for families to make ends meet are on the downfall according to the report of the annual Virginia Job Gap Study released Wednesday.
The report says there are about seven people looking for jobs for every one job that pays a living wage. That's for a single adult household.
The study points to expanding Medicaid as a way to reduce the cost of living for low-wage workers and increasing economic activity.
