Virginia National Bank Applauded for Community Involvement

Posted: Updated:

Virginia National Bank is being applauded for its community involvement. VNB sponsors more than 150 nonprofits in and around Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

Thirty nonprofits met for a lunch Tuesday at Old Metropolitan Hall to thank the bank for what it's done for them. VNB's president, Glenn Rust, says supporting nonprofits has been part of his company's mission since the very beginning.

“I hope the message gets out that there's more work to be done, but if everybody chips in, we'll eradicate some of these problems one step at a time,” Rust said.

Representatives from the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA and the Boys & Girls Club say their programs have grown thanks to VNB's support.

James Pierce, from the Boys & Girls Club, says it's not just the money, but the time spent volunteering, that makes a difference.
