Virginia Tech Football's Trey Edmunds Out for Season
The Hokies beat the Cavaliers 16-6 but they did suffer a loss on the field at Scott Stadium as freshman running back Trey Edmunds suffered a broken right tibia, and will miss the remainder of the season.
"To see Trey Edmunds go down, I thought he was having his best game since he came to Virginia Tech," said Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer (8-4, 5-3). "We'll get that thing healed up and get him rolling again next year."
Edmunds was injured on a run on the first play of the 4th quarter.
"He just made a great run after the catch," said Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas. "That's what we've gotta have to score touchdowns and he did it. It's sad to see him go down with an injury especially the kind that it is. We're just gonna be praying for him and hoping he gets back."
The true freshman leads Virginia Tech with ten touchdowns and almost seven-hundred yards rushing this season.
