Charlottesville Restaurants Launch Campaign for Virginia Institute of Autism

Two Charlottesville restaurants are launching a campaign that will benefit the Virginia Institute of Autism (VIA).
Petit Pois and Fleurie, both on the downtown mall, will donate one dollar for every meal served between December 1-31 to VIA's post-high school program.
The money will go toward an outdoor classroom and greenhouse by the school's playground.
“We decided that a garden would really enhance what the playground looked like as well as give anyone out there at the campus something a little prettier to look at,” said Brian Hellederg, owner of Petit Pois and Fleurie.
The goal is to raise $3,500 for the outdoor classroom and greenhouse.
Both restaurants took part in Charlottesville Restaurant Week earlier this year. Proceeds from that week helped build VIA's adaptive playground.
