For the next two weeks, shoppers in Albemarle County can find special deals from a consignment shop to help dogs and cats find a forever home.

Pets up for adoption from the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA helped kick off the "Pets in the Attic" fundraiser Saturday at Saint Peters Attic Consignment.

The effort features collaboration between the SCPA, consignment shop, and Karimi Art Gallery.

“I think it's important that we raise money, especially around this time,” says Karimi Gallery artist Hamid Karimi. “There's a lot of pets out there, and now as Christmas is approaching, I'm hoping that we can find homes for the pets that we have here today.”

From now until December 7, customers can get 10 percent off their purchase if "SPCA" is mentioned at check out. A percentage of the shop's total sales will be donated to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA.
