Swoope Volunteer Firefighter Accused of Calling in Fake Accident
AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -
Augusta County investigators say a Swoope volunteer firefighter is in trouble with the law for calling in a fake accident, then showing up at the scene with rescue crews.
Dillon Simmons is charged with two counts of a false alarm. Deputies got a call Wednesday from a man who said his son was in a crash on Morris Mill Road. They never found an accident and say they eventually traced the call to Simmons.
Simmons was released on personal recognizance.
