5-Star Football Recruit Andrew Brown Enrolling Early at UVa
The University of Virginia's most heralded football recruit is still committed to UVa and is enrolling early.
Andrew Brown, a 5-star defensive tackle from Oscar Smith HS in Chesapeake has already signed his grant-in-aid which will allow him to enroll at UVa in January and participate in spring practice.
Because Brown has signed his papers allowing him to enroll early, UVa coach Mike London on Monday was allowed by NCAA rules to talk about his prize recruit.
London says, "Andrew is a dynamic player on the defensive side, he's the number-one defensive tackle in the country, and I know that his ability and his accomplishments, his work ethic, there's so many different things about him that he brings to the table that makes your football team a better team.
UVa's other 5-star recruit Quin Blanding, a safety from Bayside HS in Virginia Beach is also still verbally committed to UVa. UVa athletics director Craig Littlepage reportedly has told both Blanding and Brown and their families that coach Mike London will return as head coach next season.
