Amherst School Officials Crack Down on Bomb Threats

Amherst County Schools is cracking down on students who make false bomb threats.

The system is installing detection equipment to help catch perpetrators and a $500 reward will be offered for the identity of anyone who makes a bomb threat.

The school system is also considering making parents pay restitution for costs associated with false alarms.

Amherst County schools have had six bomb threats in the first four months of this school year.
