Riverheads Pounds Arcadia 57-14 in Opening Round of State Football Playoffs

The 4-seed Riverheads football team jumped out to a 57-0 lead in the first half, and crushed 13-seed Arcadia 57-14 in the first round of the Group 2A East state playoffs.

Senior Ben Agnor led the Gladiators with 116 yards rushing on nine carries, and scored twice.

Junior Cole Smiley had three touchdowns while gaining 94-yards on seven carries.

Junior quarterback Kendall Casto was a perfect 2-2 for 62-yards passing, including a touchdown pass to senior Nathan Eye.

Landon Diehl (4 carries, 33 yards) and Chance Staton (3 carries, 55 yards) also scored rushing touchdowns for Riverheads.

The Gladiators will host Bruton in the second round.
