Scottsville's Van Clief Natural Area Cleanup Held Saturday
A group of volunteers came out for the first workday to clean up the Van Clief Natural Area in Scottsville Saturday. People of all ages helped to remove tree stumps, rake leaves, and move brush on the north side of the property's lake.
The town of Scottsville is looking to develop the 63-acre area into a public park to attract more visitors.
Scottsville Mayor Barry grove stated, “I think it's more of a hidden asset, very few people know that this is up here. It’s not obvious from the street that there's anything back here at all. You can just tell by looking around that it's a hidden wonderland.”
Scottsville Town Council is still in the process of creating a master plan for the area. Council hopes to have the plan ready in a couple months to put on display for public comment.
