ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -

Neighbors in western Albemarle County are sounding off to their supervisor about concerns that range from drunk driving to trash collection.

A dozen people came out to supervisor Ann Mallek's town meeting at the White Hall Community Center Saturday morning. They discussed a variety of issues including illegal hunting, drunk driving from wineries, and collecting solid waste.

“I hope that going into the future, we will have more of an understanding as a county that this is one of our core functions and we need to make more of an effort in the solid waste and recycling realm because the environmental consequences are so great,” Mallek said.

Mallek says discussion from these town hall meetings are helpful in her decision-making. She's hosting another town hall Tuesday night at 7:30 in the Crozet Library.
