$10,000 in Damage After Deck Fire in Albemarle

The structure fire located at 666 Woodburn Court was discovered by the neighbors in the adjoining duplex. One of the occupants smelled smoke and alerted the other occupant in that unit. The fire was found to be on the other neighbor’s deck. They evacuated their unit and alerted their neighbor of the fire on his deck.

The first arriving fire unit noticed smoke coming from the rear of the structure. Upon investigating, a fire was located on the deck of house number 666. The fire was extinguished and a search was conducted for extension into the interior walls and attic spaces of both units 666 and 668.

The fire caused was determined to be accidental and the fire loss is estimated to be $10,000.
