Jane Dittmar was sworn into the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors in front of a crowd of county representatives Monday. She will now represent the Scottsville District.
Dittmar says she is humbled her friends and neighbors in Scottsville have put their trust in her, and now she's excited to take office at a time when Albemarle’s economy is in an upswing.
"Obviously you want to be fiscally responsible and not strap future boards and years where the economy might not be as good, but we are coming in at a good time to address needs that we haven't been addressing in the past because of the recession,” she said.
Dittmar says she hopes to immediately address several issues with the board, including funding for Scottsville police and refurbishing the Scottsville Library.
