An Albemarle County photographer is using technology to depict flowers with remarkable clarity from every angle.
Robert Llewellyn's photographs of flowers appear in the recently-released book "Seeing Flowers: Discovering the Hidden Life of Flowers." The photographer says he overcame the constraints of blurry pictures by using microscopes and a complicated computer program that blends each image together.
"I actually moved the camera, it moves down in layers and it creates up to 50 layers at different focal points," he explained.
Llewellyn says the painstaking process made him feel more like an explorer than a photographer.
