Staunton Salvation Army Kicks off Christmas Bazaar
The holidays are almost here, and now is a chance to get started on your shopping. Friday, the Salvation Army in Staunton kicked off its annual Christmas Bazaar.
Organizers say you can find pretty much anything you need there, and for a discounted price. They have Christmas trees, sweaters, and all kinds of festive decorations for the home - and it's all for a cause. The funds raised will help the Women's Ministry projects throughout the year. They also now sell food, and sales from that will help older youth at church.
This is the third year of the event, and organizers say it has really expanded.
"The last two years we've only done it on Saturday. This year we've opened it up to Friday and Saturday, and we've added the food. So every year we might add something new,” said Mary Kay Hearne, a major at the Salvation Army in Staunton.
They're selling pulled pork, hot dogs, chips and drinks on the site. Plus all items are priced to go.
The event has wrapped up for Friday, but it also runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army located on West Beverly Street.
