There's no argument that Charlottesville's Belmont Bridge needs to be replaced, but there are a lot of different opinions on how it should be done.
You can weigh in on the changes at a meeting November 21. Public comment will be collected at the meeting to provide the city some direction. The meeting runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at CitySpace on Fifth Street NE. City of Charlottesville Press Release

The City of Charlottesville invites the community to a public meeting led by a facilitator to discuss expectations and goals for an enhanced bridge concept. The existing bridge needs to be replaced with a safe, functional and attractive alternative that will serve the needs of the community now and into the future. Please come out to provide the City direction and hear your neighbors' opinions.
Public comment will be collected at the meeting and accepted until December 6, 2013 via www.belmontbridge.com or mail (City Hall, NDS - Belmont Bridge, PO Box 911, Charlottesville, VA 22902).
