UVa women's soccer coach Steve Swanson has been named women's soccer ACC Coach of the Year.  Its the first time he's won the award.

Swanson had six of his players named All-ACC.   Junior midfielder Morgan Brian, sophomore forward Makenzy Doniak, and sophomore defender Emily Sonnett were named first-team All-ACC.   Danielle Colaprico was second team All-ACC, Molly Menchel was third team All-ACC, and goalie Morgan Stearns was named to the ACC All-freshman team.

Virginia is in its eighth week as the #1 ranked team in America.  The 'Hoos have a record of 20-0 and will face Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament semifinals, Friday at 5:30pm in Cary, NC.   All four teams in the ACC semis are ranked in the top-5 in the nation.

Morgan Brian says, "That could be a final four for a national tournament like the NCAA tournament, some people say its harder to win the ACC tournament. Last year we were fortunate enough to win it, we're trying to do that again this year."

Makenzy Doniak says, "I think other teams really want to bring that fire against us. I think that just makes us more prepared because we know teams are going to come hard at us."
