Staunton Man Accused of Molestation: Confession was Coerced

Posted: Updated:

A Staunton man accused of molesting a young girl confessed to the crime, but now he claims he was coerced.

Daniel Folk, 43, is charged with sodomy and aggravated sexual battery. Investigators say he confessed to molesting an 8-year-old girl over the past couple of summers, but Folk says the police threatened him into confessing.

Folk's attorney filed a motion to suppress his statements and Wednesday an Augusta Circuit Court judge heard the case.

He will deliver his decision sometime before Folk's December 12 jury trial.
