Harrison transferred from Fluvanna to STAB this year
St. Anne's Belfield sophomore Jalen Harrison will be continuing his baseball career right in STAB's backyard, as the three-sport athlete has given his verbal commitment to the UVa baseball team.
There is an option to play football as well, but Harrison says he believes baseball is where he can really make his mark.
"It was just a really good decision for me and my family, because I want them to be able to see my games, and see me play a little bit," says Harrison. "It's also a really good academic school. So it was a big decision, but an easy decision for me."
Harrison's father, Chad Harrison, made the announcement Sunday afternoon.
Baseball recruiting site, Perfect Game, ranks the outfielder as 2016's #1 prospect in Virginia and #21 prospect overall in the country.
As a wide receiver on the STAB football team, Harrison just helped the Saints achieve their first playoff berth since 2010.
The sophomore has 489 receiving yards, 203 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 2013.
Harrison is also one of the top basketball prospects in Virginia for the class of 2016.
