Nicholson Out For Season; UVa Football Moves Forward Starting Five Freshmen

Posted: Updated:

London announced Monday that starting defensive back Demetrious Nicholson will miss the remainder of the season as he is still suffering from turf toe.

The junior has missed the last four games with that injury.

Nicholson will not need surgery but with the season all but gone London feels there's no need to rush Nicholson's return.

The 'Hoos will continue to fight on, right now starting five true freshman.

London said, "It's just great to see that these young guys have not quit, that they want to soak up as much as they can learn because they want to win, they want to play better and it's exciting regardless of what's going on now we still have to coach and teach these players. There's a lot of football left to be played but there's also the development of guys that have been playing that are going to be better players and that's the exciting part."
