UVa Football's Keeon Johnson Provides Spark to Struggling Cavs

Posted: Updated:

The Virginia football team has dropped to 0-5 in the ACC after Saturday's 59-10 loss against Clemson but one of the lone bright spots in the loss was the play of true freshman Keeon Johnson.

The 6'3" 200 lb wide receiver hauled in a team-high five catches for 77 yards. His output almost doubles his totals heading into the game.

Johnson has started each of the last five games for the 'hoos.

Head coach Mike London said, "His best football is in front of him.  He's learning as we go along.  He's the type of receiver that's a physical guy, that can go vertical, and do things on the perimeter.  We'll keep coaching him, and teaching him.  He's another young player who will be a really good player before he's done playing."
