Albemarle County Offering Motorcycle Training Program
The Albemarle County school system is offering a motorcycle training program to try to reduce the number of accidents involving bikers in Virginia.
The three day class provides bikers classroom and road course instruction. They learn safe weaving, swerving, tight turns and quick stops.
Thousands of people are injured every year in motorcycle crashes on Virginia's roadways. The course's instructor says bad habits are sometimes to blame.
"People screeching to a halt instead of being prepared ahead of time, not being aware or alert enough, just thinking they know everything there is to know about it until that other car comes up behind you and you realize you didn't know as much as you thought you did ," said rider coach Ruth Greer.
