Driver Pleads Guilty to Unlawful Wounding

A driver pleaded guilty Friday to running down a woman in a Charlottesville driveway.

Tonya Hammack intentionally hit a 50-year-old woman with her car back in April. She ran the woman down in a driveway along the 1800 block of Barracks Road near Rugby Road. Friday, she pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and attempted unlawful wounding.

The victim said the suspect had returned to the apartment, to pick up a car she had left there, when an argument occurred.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Hammack is scheduled for sentencing February 3.
