A woman stepped into the path of an oncoming taxicab at the Corner near the University of Virginia around 9:45 Thursday night.
The victim was put in an ambulance after the incident at the intersection of 14th and West Main streets near Boylan Heights.
Another cab driver, Annatta Quiros, was there when it happened.
"I was sitting in my cab and all of a sudden I heard a real loud thunk," she said. "Then I heard another sound and she like screamed. I turned around and saw her on the ground and I got out of my cab and I was going to call 911 but someone already had."
The victim was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
