Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority Seeks Social Media, Web Upgrade
Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority
An agency known best for its dealings with waste water wants to fork out big bucks for some public relations help. The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority says it needs web and social media upgrades that put it directly in touch with customers.
The RWSA is asking board members to spend about $40,000 for a website and social media upgrade. If approved by the board of directors, the upgrade will be outsourced to Jaggers Communications.
Executive director Tom Frederick says that when the expertise is not inside the organization, outsourcing is the best option and something customers want.
“They consistently tell us they want us to communicate in as many ways as reasonable to them so that they have an opportunity to provide their input and expectations,” said Frederick.
Frederick says he believes the communications may help lower costs of expensive initiatives that a majority of the community may not want. He also believes an electronic upgrade may allow Charlottesville and Albemarle County to better see common needs. That, in turn, could facilitate greater city and county cooperation.
Frederick says the initiative will go to the RWSA Board of Directors for approval on November 26.
