Next Tuesday is Election Day and area Republicans say this final week of campaigning could be make or break for the GOP. Supporters kicked off a critical week of work on the ground with a rally and sign wave in Albemarle County Monday at the GOP headquarters in Albemarle Square.

Congressman Robert Hurt helped drum up support for both the statewide and local races - including seats on Charlottesville City Council and the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

"I think obviously what's at stake here is the quality of life for Albemarle County and that's very, very important. I think Duane and Rodney have done a great job. I think Cindy would be a great addition to the team,” said Hurt.

Volunteers are working on a mailing project all week to send letters to voters. They will also go door-to-door over the weekend.
