Pancake Fundraiser for Parkinson's Disease Draws Hundreds
Students at the University of Virginia served up about 30,000 hotcakes Saturday morning to help people with Parkinson's disease.
Hundreds of people headed out to the lawn for the 10th annual Pancakes for Parkinson's fundraiser. Students and visitors - including talk show host Katie Couric - showed up to enjoy breakfast and donate to the cause.
"My grandmother just lost a 25 year battle to Parkinson's and for the last seven years of her life my family lived with her as full time caretakers, and so coming to UVA I knew I really wanted to be involved with the cause," co-chair and student Josh Myers said.
Donations from Pancakes for Parkinson's benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
